Emily Harris

Owner of Harris Life Training
Personal Trainer and Tennis Instructor

Emily grew up in a very healthy, active home and enjoyed playing many sports. She was a successful junior USTA and state tennis player. She won her first regional title in eighth grade. It was not a surprise that she chose to play Division I tennis at Lipscomb University and major in Health and Physical Education. Following college the combination of working in Corporate Wellness for D1 Sports Training and being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes gave her a new found passion for a health lifestyle. To equip herself to help others she became a certified personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and completed her Masters in Exercise Science and Nutrition. Before kids she intently worked with college students as the Director of Campus Recreation at Lipscomb University. While at Lipscomb both her and her husband built and ran the Lipscomb University Racquet Club. She now pursues her passion teaching tennis and fitness to all ages and skill levels.

Joyce Ellis

Registered Nurse, Wellness Coach & Tennis Instructor

Joyce is described by her family and friends as the most energetic person they have ever met. She is full of life and enjoys every minute of each day no matter what it brings. As a registered nurse for 32 years she has developed a love for helping people prevent disease through education and healthy lifestyle living. Introducing people to tennis was always one of her favorites. She has extensive experience teaching tennis in local neighborhoods and recreation departments. Joyce is also one of the main reasons both her daughters played Divison 1 tennis. Joyce is very active in her church and community and has been leading a women’s ministry and children’s bible classes for many years.

Andrew Harris

Tennis Coach

Andrew was a nationally ranked junior player from Atlanta, GA, a former Division I tennis player, and two-time all conference selection from Lipscomb University. He served as the Head Coach for Men's and Women's Tennis at Lipscomb University from 2008-2013. During that time he also was the Director of the Lipscomb Racquet Club, teaching tennis to all ages and skill levels.Currently Andrew serves as the Director of Health Systems Solutions for Trilliant Health in Brentwood. He continues to enjoy the game of tennis and teach some in his free time.

Sasha Dobranos

Tennis Instructor

Coach Sasha is from Ukraine and a recent graduate from Lipscomb University. She played her senior year at #1 singles and doubles. She had a winning record and was named the 2024 ASUN player of the year. She has a love and passion for the game of tennis and a drive for dynamic drills to help players reach their potential. 

Jonathan Diller

Tennis Instructor

Coach D has true love for the game. He played D1 tennis for Youngstown State University and even played one year as defensive back on the football team. As a recent retiree (23 years as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer) he became a USPTA certified tennis pro. For the last year he taught lessons in Hilton Head South Carolina. His recent move to Murfreesboro makes it a great fit to grow the game at Westhaven. 

Conner Christian

Tennis Instructor

Connor discovered tennis early in high school and never looked back. He went on to play number one singles and lead the team to three undefeated seasons at Gallia academy high school. Attended college to play tennis at Southeastern University in Lakeland Florida and Ohio Northern University on the varsity squad. Since college, He has expanded his coaching skills by becoming a PTR and Net Generation certified Coach. With a vast amount of knowledge and enthuesiasm for the game of tennis, Connor has experience coaching all ages/levels. Outside of the tennis courts Connor is a professional musician who is active in the Nashville music scene and has appeared on NBC’s the Voice on team Blake.

Matt Massingale

Tennis Instructor

Coach Matt has been an avid tennis player since college. He is a true student of the game and focuses on hitting every stroke with the proper technique. He had a successful business career as a financial advisor for 32 years. He has also coached high school players for 25 years and was a volunteer assistant with a Division 1 women's tennis team. He loves to help students learn how to manage their emotions, analyze what is happening in a match, and find strategies to win.



Joe Major

Tennis Instructor

Joe is a born and raised Texan, and a lover of tennis. He was introduced to tennis at a young age by his mom, who played in high school. He quickly fell in love with the sport and made it to the super champ level at 14. He began his coaching career at 16, and has spent the last 10 years on the court working with all skill levels and ages. He spent 4 years as head coach for Brazos Christian School, and his team went on to place top 3 every year at their state tournaments. Most recently, he was the Director of Instruction at Traditions Club in College Station, Texas. He’s passionate about growing his student's skill set, technique, and mental approach to the game. He’s a singer-songwriter when he’s off the court.

Brandon

Tennis Instructor

Brandon Mordecai started playing tennis at 9 years old and is from Edison, NJ. He was a competitive high school and club tennis player at Florida State University. He now spends his time coaching tennis and playing piano for various acts across Nashville. His experience teaching high school and professional piano since 2012 gives him a unique ability to connect with students at all levels.

Sklyar Sullivan

Tennis Instructor

Sklyar started playing tennis in middle school at Lipscomb Academy. She went on to play #1 singles in high school here she advanced to the state doubles championships several times. After high school, she went to play at Freed-Hardeman University. During her college career she secured the #1 singles and doubles spot. She has a love for the game of tennis and enjoyes helping others reach their goals to succeed in life.
